The Gupshup platform gives bot-builders the opportunity to integrate dashbot analytics with their bot. Dashbot is a tool that offers advanced reporting on users, engagement, retention, demographics, sentiment analysis and more. Dashbot also enables for live reporting as well as live-person take over where a human can carry forward the conversation.
Gupshup offers a simple API integration with Dashbot. To get started:
Create a bot on the Gupshup platform and publish it to the channel of your choice. Currently Dashbot supports Facebook Messenger, Slack, Kik, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
Create an account on dashbot.io. Enter all the details of your bot and hit 'Save'
You will now have to the Gupshup API to integrate with Dashbot. The API is
curl -X POST \
'https://api.gupshup.io/sm/api/v1/bot/[botname]/settings/dashbot/activate' \
-H 'apikey: [apikey]' \
-H 'cache-control: no-cache' \
-H 'content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded' \
-d 'channel: [fb or slack or kik or googleassistant]
dashbotapikey=[apikey of bot on dashbot]
sharecreds=[true or false]'
You can obtain the Gupshup API key by logging into gupshup.io and clicking on your profile.
You can obtain the Dashbot API key by going to https://www.dashbot.io/bots. Scroll to see the list of all bots and click the Edit button to view the API key of the bot
Once the API is called, you will get a 204 response which means that the dashbot integration is successful. Open dashbot and you will see a menu with various metrics that you can view
Interact with your bot and then click on the 'Live transcripts' section to see if the integration was successful.
You can choose to deactivate Dashbot by using the following API:
curl -X PUT \
'https://api.gupshup.io/sm/api/v1/bot/[botname]/settings/dashbot/deactivate' \
-H 'apikey: [apikey]' \
-H 'cache-control: no-cache' \
-H 'content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded' \
-d channel=[fb or slack or kik or googleassistant]
Note: Bot APIs mentioned above can be imported into Postman directly. Install Postman. Click on 'Import' -> Paste Raw Text and then paste the API as is. Replace the API keys and hit the 'Send' button to run the API.
